Submitted by Jane Myers "I can tell you that AndersenAlumni.Net has been responsive to our requests and has worked with us throughout our very complex procurement process so that we could utilize this medium as a recruiting source. In the few weeks we have posted opportunities on their site we have gotten quality results and the access to their resume database has been fruitful. I would give AndersenAlumni.Net a high recommendation." John Liacone RSM McGladrey Manager, Staffing Solutions Practice Submitted by Jeff Messacar "I hadn't worked at Andersen for years, but the recent events did impact many of people I have known for my entire career. I had lost track of many of these individuals, but this alumni website has provided me with the opportunity to reconnect. Not only have I reconnected with a few past coworkers, I have also been able to assist them in their time of need. Having been in IT myself for over 20 years, I now find myself "on the other side of the desk", placing IT resources at various well-known clients in the Chicago area. This new position has allowed me to help other ex-Andersen individuals. One major benefit of tapping this type of resource is the overall professional package I usually get from ex-Andersen people. That cannot be over valued. Neither can the intentions or mission of this website." Submitted by Coretta S. Robinson "As a result of the networking capabilities of this website I am proud to say that I am now gainfully employed. An article was recently printed in the Wall Street Journal that highlighted former employees of Enron and Andersen. It was because of faith, that article and this website that I am now employed. My new employer, who happens to be an Andersen Alum, read the article. He then searched AndersenAlumni.Net to see if I was registered here. After finding me he sent an email message indicating that he would like to speak to me regarding a position with his company. I am now proud to say that I am now gainfully employed and I am to began my new job on Tuesday, October 22, 2002. The company name is Outsource Partners International, Inc. (OPI) in Chicago and it was founded by two former Andersen partners, William Schrank and Vince Sparrow, who are now my new employers. I would like to thank the founder of this website for providing a tool in which former Andersen employees could reach out to each other. Keep up the good work." Submitted by Romanita Ross After being layed off at Andersen, I remained unemployed for about 3 months. I ran into a former Andersen Alumni who told me that the Risk Management department formed their own company. I forward my resume to the company. A few of the former Andersen Partners remembered me and hired me with in 2 days. I'm proud to say that as of Septemer 16, 2002, I became a employee of Protiviti, formerly the Risk Management department at Andersen. I'm also happy to say that even after the lay-off, Andersen's former employees took care of each other. It's like family! This success story exemplifies the bond that former Andersen employees share. Actions like this are what this website promotes and facilitates. AndersenAlumni.Net is proud to provide this website to over 6,000 members who can reap the benefits of being an AndersenAlum. Submitted by Toby Bishop Although I have a job, when I relocated to Austin recently I reached out to all the Andersen Alumni in the area who were registered on this site. I made some great contacts. We're going to have a networking party soon, which may help some people find jobs but can also help the rest of us too. It's easier in a smaller city than a big one, but it's worth trying. The job market is tough, but that's when smart business leaders hire top quality people and position themselves for greater success on the upturn.
